I was born in Athens, Greece, studied history of arts and computational linguistics in Paris and am now living in Munich, Germany, working as a freelance photo, graphic and web designer (http://inamarr.com).
In 2001 I created my first experimental series called "Lightcurves", where I transformed the body into landscape through lighting effects and accessory objects. Since 2001, I have been exploring the notion of metamorphosis and transforming the representational into abstract, through lighting effects, shooting techniques (such as "traveling" of the camera) or photomanipulation.
My favourite subjects are: the human body, handicap, portraits of people revealing the various facets of their personality, sculptures transformed into paintings, landscape elements transformed into abstract compositions, but also historical themes namely genocides.
Ina Mar's "Hommage
to Rodin's Eternal Idol - Variation Ivy" was chosen as a cover illustration for the poetry book by Paul Lobo Portugés "The
Body Electric Journal", published on June 2007.
